Bernie,
If I understood you correctly, you are currently in
possession of a long list of vendors in numerous trades. I suspect that you
have vetted the owners/operators and deemed honest and trustworthy. It would
appear to me that Northside parishioners could benefit greatly by having access
to such information and enabling them to contact specific vendors.
If you were to provide a copy of this list online, parishioners
could select vendors, sans having to trouble the deacons, as the need
arises. Naturally, if the members were unable to pay for the services
themselves, at that time, Northside-assistance could be pursued.
Making the list available could expedite procurement of requisite
services and allow deacons et. al to reserve their efforts for those unable to
provide for themselves, requiring finding sources for funding.
Illustrative of the potential benefit derived is readily
observed in our personal situation. We recently had tenants move into one of
our houses. It would have eased their transition if we had access to a list of
providers (e.g., A/C, handyman services, etc.) We had such a list in Texas but
could certainly use a broader list of vetted-vendors here.
